TORRONE IN A LOT OF WAYS
The classical torrone it is the heart of our production, but we have been making torroncini too for some years.

  • The classical torrone

it’s part of Tonara traditions: it has the Sardinian honey and the first quality dried fruit flavour; it has the typical ivory-colour; it is crystalline, but easy to bite; it doesn’t stick to the teeth.

The classical torrone can be with almonds, hazelnuts or walnuts. There are several flavours, one for each type of honey.

The torroncini (little torrone)
They are little soft bars of torrone, covered with a tasty frosting of different flavours. They are cm. 5 long and weight gr.1 only. A tasty snack you can easily take with you.

RAW MATERIALS
We use Sardinian honey only
, which is one of the best Italian ones. We use only extra quality dried fruit.

PRODUCTION
We select
the dried fruit by hand. We then roast the seeds electrical roasters. We slowly mix honey with the white of egg in little copper cauldrons. The warmth isn’t too high to give the torrone the right consistency. When the mixture is ivory-colour we add a lot of dried fruit: at least 50% of almonds and hazelnuts and 37% of walnuts. Our plant is located in Tonara, 1,000 metres above sea level. Here the air is dried and the temperature fresh even during summer.
This is the reason why our torrone is never gummy.

TASTE IT COLD
Put our torrone in the freezer and taste it when it is cold. The cold enhances the flavours of Sardinian honey and dried fruit.

HOW TO PRESERVE THE PRUNEDDU TORRONE?
It’s enough to put it into the freezer. But remember what follows:
-before freezing it, cut it into little pieces
--put it into a close container so it will not absorb humidity.
